Tape company names new board member

SARASOTA — Intertape Polymer Group Inc. appointed energy industry executive Mary Pat Salomone a new board member Nov. 30.

Salomone also serves on the board of directors for energy firm TransCanada Corp., where she serves on the audit and health, safety and environment committees, according to a release. She's currently a director of the Youngstown State University Foundation.

Salomone was previously senior vice president and COO of Charlotte, N.C.-based Babcock & Wilcox Co,. which designs and manufactures boilers and other systems for a variety of renewable and industrial power systems worldwide.

With dual headquarters in Sarasota and Canada, Intertape Polymer Group has about 2,000 employees in 17 locations. In November, it acquired RJM Manufacturing Inc. for $11 million.
