Banker takes on regional leadership role

TAMPA — The Tampa Bay Partnership named its leadership team for 2016.

Allen Brinkman, chairman, president and CEO of SunTrust Bank's west Florida division, will serve as chair of the team, according to a statement. He takes over for the past chair, area Fifth Third Bank executive Brian Lamb.

Bradenton-based accountant Byron Shinn, founder and managing partner of Shinn & Co., will be vice chair. Shinn previously served on the partnership's leadership team as secretary/treasurer and as chair of the audit committee, the statement adds.

The secretary/treasurer of the leadership team will be David Pizzo, market president of Florida Blue's west Florida region. Pizzo is a past chair of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.

The new leadership team will work with Rick Homans, named president and CEO of the Tampa Bay Partnership in November.
