It can get lonely at the top.
And if you're a city mayor, whom do you turn to for advice?
Other mayors, of course.
Enter the Florida League of Mayors, which recently elected a gaggle of Gulf Coast mayors to its 21-member board of directors. The organization helps mayors work cooperatively to solve common problems and promote the exchange of ideas.
More than one-third of the mayors on the organization's board hail from the Gulf Coast. Mayors from the region on the board include:
David Archie of Tarpon Springs;
Chris Arbutine of Belleair Bluffs;
Randy Henderson of Fort Myers;
Kevin Ruane of Sanibel;
Marni Sawicki of Cape Coral;
John Sorey of Naples;
Marlene Wagner of Lake Hamilton;
Leslie Waters of Seminole;
Howard Wiggs of Lakeland
