The Ringling College Library Association announced a change in speakers for the Town Hall 2016 Lecture Series.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres has canceled his appearance that was scheduled to kick off the series on Tuesday, Jan. 19 due to unforeseen circumstances.

In his place, Michael Eisner will present. The former president of Paramount Studios and CEO of The Walt Disney Company fit with the theme of inspirational leaders according to Town Hall 2016 Lecture Series Chairwoman Chris Cremer.

"With his entertainment, business and technology acumen, we felt Michael Eisner was a natural fit for our 36th annual lecture series, the theme of which is honoring inspired leadership," Cremer said in a release. "In addition, his insights into the future needs of the entertainment industry are an inspired fit with the mission and goals of the Ringling College of Art and Design and their students."

Eisner spent 21 years with Disney and founded The Tornante Co., which invests in and operates media and entertainment companies.

The Ringling College Library Association raises funds for capital projects for the Sarasota-based The Ringling College of Art and Design.
