Mortgage firm banks $10.7M in transactions

The Lakewood Ranch/Sarasota office of Thomas D. Wood and Company, one of the largest independently owned commercial mortgage firms in Florida, recently secured $10.7 million in commercial mortgage transactions.

Brad Cox, a senior vice president at the firm, closed deals for financing for commercial properties in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Illinois.

The list of transactions includes:
• $4.75 million for a 128-unit apartment complex in Mauldin, S.C.;
• $1.15 million for a retail center in Chicago;
• $1.52 million for a retail center in central Florida; and
• $1.45 million for the Henderson Pointe Office Building, a 16,080-square-foot office/retail center in Tampa.

Miami -based Thomas D. Wood and Co. was founded in 1974. It has branch offices in Clearwater, Boca Raton and Orlando, in addition to a location in a Lakewood Ranch corporate park.
