Leggett & Platt creating 100-plus jobs for Pasco
Public company Leggett & Platt (symbol: LEG; recent price: $47.98) plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in northwest Pasco County near Spring Hill.

The new operation will be located at 15800 Hudson Ave., in an 80,000-square-foot facility the company owns. The Spring Hill facility, which will assemble adjustable bed bases, is expected to create 124 new jobs over the next few months.

Michael Altman, director of labor relations for Leggett & Platt, says increasing consumer demand and the need for additional southeast U.S. production and distribution capacity prompted Leggett & Platt to consider an operation in Pasco.

Leggett & Platt received assistance in the move from the Pasco Economic Development Council.

Leggett & Platt has 18 business units, 19,000 employees and 130 manufacturing facilities in 18 countries.
