BRADENTON — State College of Florida President Carol Probstfeld has been elected chair of the Council of Presidents of the Florida College System.
Probstfeld's appointment, according to a release, is for a one-year term. The presidents of all 28 state/community colleges elected her, the release adds.
“I am honored to be selected by my peers to represent them as this year's chair of the Council of Presidents,” Probstfeld says in the release. “This is one of the best community college systems in the nation and all 28 schools do incredible things for our students, communities and workforce partners every day.”
The Florida College System is comprised of the 28 public state/community colleges that offer certificates, associate and baccalaureate degrees. The council is made up of the president of each of these schools.
Probstfeld was named president of SCF in January 2013, after 10 years as vice president of business and administrative services. She has more than 20 years experience in higher education.
