FORT MYERS — NeoGenomics named Steven Brodie its chief scientific officer, the company says in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Brodie is currently the laboratory director for the company's Fort Myers facility and director of molecular genetics and cytogenetics. He will continue to serve in both capacities, the company says in the filing.

Prior to joining NeoGenomics in 2011, Brodie served as a senior director of cytogenetics, assistant director of molecular genetics, and scientific director of maternal serum screening at Quest Diagnostics' specialty laboratories in California.

NeoGenomics is scheduled to report first-quarter earnings April 28. In the fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, the Fort Myers-based company reported net income of $1.05 million on revenues of $25 million.

In addition to Fort Myers, the company also has laboratories in Tampa, Nashville and Irvine, Calif. The company acquired California-based PathLogic in July, a provider of specialized anatomic pathology.
