SARASOTA — A Bank of America branch at one of the most heavily traveled intersections of Sarasota has sold for $5.95 million.

The 5,100-square-foot branch is at 3303 S. Tamiami Trail, according to a release, just north of Bee Ridge Road. Area real estate investor Rodney Dessberg, through 3303 S. Trail LLC, sold the building to a pair of LLCs, one based on Long Island, N.Y., and one based in Plantation.

Commercial real estate broker Ricardo Ruiz del Vizo, with Optimus Commercial Real Estate Investment Advisors/KW Commercial, represented Dessberg in the sale. He says the sale price is a record for single-tenant bank branches in Sarasota County, based on his research. The sale was also a net lease transaction, in which the tenant traditionally pays expenses like taxes and insurance. The bank branch, adds del Vizo, is a high-performing one for Bank of America.

Derrick Schroeder with Solid Investments represented the buyers, according to the statement.

“This is a valuable piece of property,” del Vizo tells the Business Observer. “It was a good deal for everyone.”
