TAMPA -- A subsidiary of Tampa-based Cunningham Lindsey Co., has acquired an environmental and engineering company it says will help it grow on the nation's west coast.

EFI Global, located in Humble, Texas, has picked up Andersen Environmental in Los Angeles. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The newly combined subsidiary is expected to strengthen its environmental, engineering and catastrophe response resources for commercial real property and insurance markets.

Andersen Environmental has been in business for more than 14 years, and operates six offices in California, along with nine other satellite offices in several other states including Florida, and 60 employees.

Dennis Ironi, Andersen's president, will join EFI as a vice president. He will help oversee a new company with a geographic reach in 58 offices with more than 450 employees.

It will remain a subsidiary of Cunningham Lindsey, which provides claims management services to the insurance market. It has more than 600 offices in 60 countries, with more than 7,000 employees.
