VENICE — PGT Inc. has completed its purchase of the specialty products firm CGI Windows & Doors Holdings Inc. for $111 million.

PGT says the acquisition will further strengthen its position in the impact-resistant market, giving it greater economies of scale, a wider manufacturing footprint and more diversity of its product offering, including the addition of impact-resistant entry doors.

Jeff Jackson, president and chief operating officer of PGT Industries, has been named to the same position with CGI. Steven Dawson, executive vice president of sales for CGI, has been promoted to vice president and general manager for CGI. Jorge Santaella of CGI will continue to be responsible for operations as director of manufacturing.

“The capabilities and assets the talented CGI team brings will allow us to advance our collective leadership position in the industry,” Jackson says in a press release. “With the combination of these two successful companies, the future is brighter than ever.”

Created in 1992, CGI designs and manufactures impact-resistant products that meet or exceed the Miami-Dade County impact standards. CGI will continue to operate and manufacture products in Miami.
