National homebuilder Pulte Homes Corp. purchased 38.76 acres of vacant land for $3.62 million.

The price equated to $93,395 per acre.

The property will be used to build a new single-family home community named Camden Square. Located at the northeast corner of Plantation Road and Crystal Drive, the development will feature home lots with water and preserve views, a community clubhouse and heated swimming pool.

Randy Thibaut of Land Solutions Inc. was one of the sellers and handled the sale. Thibaut says the former owners rezoned the property from an industrial zone and put together the necessary entitlements to create a home community. That took about a year, he says.
