CLEARWATER — Pyramid Healthcare Solutions has promoted Alan Santos to CEO. He will lead U.S. operations for the Clearwater-based company.

At the same time, the company announced, Manoj Malhotra, president of Pyramid Healthcare Solutions and CEO of its parent company Salient Business Solutions, will also serve as chairman of the board of directors for Pyramid Healthcare Solutions. Santos will report to Malhotra.

Santos previously was vice president for Pyramid's pharmaceutical compliance and related services line of business, responsible for directing the company's newly created offerings for drug manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers.

He joined Pyramid in February after more than 26 years with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, most recently as associate deputy administrator for the office of diversion control. In that position, Santos was one of the leading controlled substance regulators and served as liaison to the pharmaceutical industry, international and state governments, and federal, state and local agencies.

“As Pyramid continues to focus on providing value added consultative revenue cycle management services within the hospital information and patient financial space for U.S. health care providers, we are confident that Alan, with his proven leadership and organizational skills, will lead Pyramid on its path toward becoming both a 'provider' of choice for our clients and an 'employer' of choice for our people,” Malhotra says in a press release.

Salient Business Solutions is the revenue cycle management and business outsourcing consulting arm of the India-based Avantha Group.
