Lee builders group hires executive

FORT MYERS — The Lee Building Industry Association named Brenda Talbert-Thomas as executive vice president of the organization.

Talbert-Thomas led various building-industry trade groups in Florida, including the Collier Building Industry Association from 2006 to 2009. She has also held other leadership roles with the Naples Area Board of Realtors, National Association of Business Women and Attainable Housing Task Force of Palm Beach County.

Talbert-Thomas' responsibilities with the Lee Building Industry Association will include working with local and state legislators on building industry issues. Talbert-Thomas will start this position on Nov. 3. The organization's previous executive vice president, Heather Mazurkiewicz, resigned in April.

The Lee Building Industry Association has over 350 members and it represents builders in Hendry, Glades and Lee counties.
