Sarasota insurance firm rallies for strong year

SARASOTA — Sunz Insurance, which specializes in underwriting worker's compensation insurance, is having a strong growth year, according to a release.

The Sarasota-based firm has had above-average market penetration in the professional employer organization and staffing markets over the last 12 months. It's also increased its overall number of insured entities.

“It's been an excellent year for growth for Sunz,” COO Glen Distefano says in the release. “In addition to adding to our insureds, Sunz realized a solid staff expansion with additional expertise in the areas of policy management, regulatory compliance, legal, accounting, claims, underwriting and safety.”

Sunz also announced that North American Risk Services is the firm's new third party administrator. Sunz officials say that means the company will have more oversight and management of vendors working on claims.
