Tampa golf biz gets creative on 450 job openings

BRANDON — Golf entertainment business Topgolf International Inc. has some creative ideas planned to fill the roughly 450 positions for its first Florida location, scheduled to open in December in Brandon.

Interested applicants are being invited to recruitment events, which include several individual and team-building tests. In one challenge applicants are asked to plan a special event for Topgolf. In another, they will be asked to speak or perform for two minutes about a topic of their choice in X-Factor-style panel interviews. The events will also include more traditional one-on-one interviews. 'Auditions' are scheduled to take place this month and stretch into November.

The Brandon Topgolf location is a three-story, 65,000-square-foot facility that features a driving range with more than 100 bays and a restaurant and sports bar.
