Bradenton CPA firm boosts three partners

BRADENTON — Shinn & Co., one of the leading independent accounting firms in Bradenton, has named three new partners.

The partners, according to a release, are Garrett Shinn, Christine Yekel and Christy Cardillo. “Our new partners bring a wealth of talent to our firm,” founding partner Byron Shinn says in the statement. “Their diverse expertise is an invaluable asset as we continue to grow our practice.”

Garrett Shinn, Byron Shinn's son, joined the firm in 2006 in a staff accountant role and became a tax principal in 2010. He specializes in closely held businesses, agribusiness, healthcare, real estate and multi-generational businesses. Yekel, a shareholder who joined the firm in 2005, has more than 35 years experience in accounting and leadership positions, the release states. She specializes in agribusiness, real estate and corporate franchisee accounting. Cardillo has been with Shinn & Co. since 2007, with areas of expertise that include manufacturing and distribution, medical, tax planning and real estate development.

Byron Shinn founded the firm in 1993 and he added a downtown Sarasota office in 2012. Clients include farms and agricultural operations, small retail stores, medical offices, manufacturing companies, nonprofit groups and county and city government entities.
