PORT CHARLOTTE — Longtime Charlotte County commercial real estate professional Maryann Mize was named chair of the CCIM Institute's Ward Center for Real Estate Studies.

Mize, also senior vice president and senior credit officer with Charlotte State Bank & Trust, was appointed to the position during the CCIM annual conference held last month in Los Angeles, according to a release. The CCIM Institute, one of the largest commercial real estate networks in the world, oversees Certified Commercial Investment Member designation — the global standard for commercial real estate professional achievement, the release adds.

The Ward Center, formed in 2007, offers advanced and continuing education classes for CCIM members and non-members. A CCIM senior instructor, Mize has earned the Institute's Rising Star Award for receiving top ratings from her students, the release states. Mize has also been a moderator and presenter at the CCIM national conference for the past two years. Mize regularly makes presentations on Charlotte County real estate statistics to business and civic groups.
