Sarasota County Bar Association exec to retire

SARASOTA — Longtime Sarasota County Bar Association Executive Director Jan Jung announced she will retire early next year.

Jung, who has run the association since 1989, will leave her post in January, according to a release. The organization expanded member services and enhanced its education programs under Jung's leadership, the release states. The association will begin a nationwide search to hire a new executive director, with a target start date of November 2015.

“During Jan's tenure, the bar association has grown and prospered greatly because of her exemplary leadership,” Sarasota County Bar Association President Douglas Cherry says in the release. “She is recognized not only in Sarasota but throughout the state as an outstanding executive director.”
