FORT MYERS — Builders recently renovated two former public-housing developments totaling 212 affordable-housing units in Fort Myers, in a project totaling $38.3 million.

The two developments are located west of Interstate 75 north of State Road 82 and have been renamed Landings at East Pointe and East Pointe Place.

The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers created the Southwest Florida Affordable Housing Choice Foundation to redevelop the properties with Pinnacle Housing Group. Firms involved in the redevelopment included BSSW Architects, Chris-Tel Construction, Quattrone and Associates, Northbay Energy, Parker/Mudgett/Smith Architects and Brooks and Freund.

“These two developments are such a major improvement over what was there before,” says said Marcus D. Goodson, director of the housing authority, in a statement. “As a result, the quality of life of each family living in these developments will be tremendously enhanced and the surrounding neighborhoods will also benefit from the positive energy from each development.”
