PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Lee Memorial Hospital Inc. purchased about 14 acres of vacant land east of Ortiz Avenue and west of Scofield Street for $1.4 million.

The property is north of Lee Memorial Regional Cancer and the Outpatient Center at the Sanctuary.

The hospital purchased the property to allow the Regional Cancer Center to expand in the future, according to Mary Briggs, spokeswoman for Lee Memorial Health System.

The health system's facilities in that area already provides primary and specialty care physician offices, diagnostic imaging, cancer treatment, a spine center and lab services from the existing facilities.
