SARASOTA — XG Technology announced it has received its second patent within a week's time. The company, which develops wireless communications, has secured patents for technology that helps stop interference with devices operating on unlicensed bands.
According to a statement from the company, interference is a major factor in providing reliable and efficient wireless transmissions. xG says with mobile carrier's customers increasingly using mobile data, interference has become more of an issue for these providers.
xG says its now patented innovation helps mobile carriers detect and reduce unwanted transmissions that lead to interference and compromise mobile systems' performance.
"This new patent enhances xG's position as a leader in developing innovative approaches to overcoming the challenges faced by today's wireless networks," says John Coleman, CEO of xG Technology, in the statement. "The company continues to invest in our xMax cognitive radio technology foundation in ways that enable us to offer compelling mobile broadband communications solutions. These solutions are unencumbered by many of the costs and limitations associated with traditional wireless options, and this key value proposition is driving interest from prospective clients in a broad range of industries.”
With this patent, the Sarasota-based firm now has been issued 51 patents in the U.S., and 65 internationally.
