FORT MYERS — Park Royal Hospital, which treats people with mental-health and substance-abuse problems, is building an outpatient addition to its facility on Bass Road.

The $1.8 million addition to the 103-bed facility will provide more space for group meetings, individual offices and a recreational area. Naples-based DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group is the general contractor.

“Many people who reach out to Park Royal for help would benefit from community resources and other treatment modalities as alternatives to inpatient care,” says Park Royal CEO Michael Evans.

Acadia Healthcare acquired Park Royal in November 2012 and expanded it from 76 to 103 beds seven months later. To handle the outpatient loads, Park Royal has used space at Commerce Center Court near its HealthPark location off Bass Road.
