SARASOTA — The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, plans to meet with Sarasota-Bradenton area business owners and executives in a visit to town this Thursday.

The event, a cocktail reception and lecture with tickets that cost $40, will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Russian American Chamber of Commerce's Florida office, headed by Sarasota resident Larisa Romanchikova, is coordinating the event and Kravchenko's trip.

“The ambassador wishes to share the benefits of doing business with Belarus,” Romanchikova says in a release. “There are many opportunities for Sarasota businesses in Belarus, and the ambassador is eager to make this information available to the community.”

Kravchenko has been a representative for diplomatic relations in Belarus since 1994, according to the release. A member of the Belarus delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency of the United Nations, Kravchenko has held his current position, based in Washington D.C., since 2007.
