Naples always above average

Naples is like the Lake Wobegon of real estate: All properties are above average.

So it's no surprise to find that the only Florida-based residential real estate firms ranked nationally in the top 50 by average sales price are headquartered in Naples, according to market tracker Real Trends.

Premier Sotheby's International Realty reported average sales price in 2013 for the firm's transactions was $762,213, garnering it the 18th spot in the ranking. John R. Wood Properties ranked 33rd with an average sales price of $552,186, Real Trends reported.

The top-ranked firm by average sales price was Washington Fine Properties in Washington, D.C., with an average sales price of nearly $1.3 million.
