Ventas buys land near The Carlisle Naples

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Louisville, Ky.-based health care real estate investment trust Ventas Inc. purchased five acres of vacant land for $2.98 million.

The price equated to $596,565 per acre.

The property is located north of Carlisle Court and south of the intersection of Orange Blossom Drive and Airport Pulling Road. It was approved for commercial uses including office and medical space.

Ventas owns the adjacent 300-unit The Carlisle Naples senior-living community. It purchased that development in 2011 for $82.25 million.

Ventas declined to comment on the purchase.

According to its website, Ventas owns a total of 72 properties in Florida, including 46 senior-housing facilities, one skilled-nursing facility, six hospitals and 19 medical office or other facilities.
