WCI Communities pays $32.5M for land near Calusa Pines Golf Club

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Bonita Springs-based WCI Communities Inc. purchased about 205 acres adjacent to Calusa Pines Golf Club for $32.5 million.

The price equated to $158,537 per acre.

The residential company acquired the property to create a master-planned development on the site, according to Laura Vandermillen Johnston, the company's vice president of marketing.

She says the homebuilder/developer is currently in the planning process for the community.

Calusa Pines Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf course designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry.
