TAMPA - American Momentum Bank named Michael Collins president of the bank's Florida franchise.

A 20-year veteran with Barnett Bank of Southwest Florida in Sarasota, Collins was also elected to American Momentum's board of directors.

“Mike understands banking at every level,” American Momentum Bank CEO and Chairman Donald Adam says in a press release. “He also knows Florida banking as well as, if not better than, anyone I've met. One of his top priorities will be to attract additional bankers who, like himself, have the same focus on delivering high-touch, client-focused service.”

Collins, in banking for 35 years, is the former president and CEO of Synovus Bank in Orlando. He was also previously a senior executive and vice president for Bank of North Georgia, which joined with CNLBancshares. He was later named president and CEO of CNLBancshares.

American Momentum Bank had total assets of $1 billion through June 30. The bank has 14 Florida locations and three full-service Texas banking centers in Bryan/College Station and a loan production office in Dallas.
