Local builder eclipses $100M in sales

MANATEE COUNTY — Medallion Home closed out 2013 with a flurry of sales and surpassed $100 million for the year — a company record.

Sales at the homebuilding firm increased 25% in 2013 over 2012, according to a release. The company builds homes in a dozen communities, mostly in Manatee and Sarasota counties. It also has homes in communities in Mount Dora, in central Florida.

Medallion executives project another big growth year for 2014, based partly on some recent land acquisitions. The firm has bought $76 million worth of land since 2009, the release states. “For the last four years, we've been focused on acquiring strategic properties that would provide Medallion with plenty of prime home sites to market and sell for many years to come,” founder Carlos Beruff says in the statement.
