SARASOTA — Anexio Technology Services, a North Carolina-based IT services firm with an operations base in Sarasota, has expanded to New York.

The firm, according to a release, acquired Elmsford, N.Y.-based Pragmatix, which specializes in IT and cloud computing services for midsize and enterprise companies. Pragmatix has clients in New York City and the suburbs to the north and in Connecticut. Terms of the deal weren't released.

The acquisition is part of Anexio's strategy to grow in the managed cloud and IT services market on the east coast. The firm, backed by $40 million in venture capital, has 15 employees in Sarasota and expects to hire at least 15 more this year to support more acquisitions.

“Our strategy of providing comprehensive cloud and IT services includes geographic and services expansion through strategic acquisitive growth,” ANEXIO CEO Tony Pompliano says in a release. “Pragmatix brings an impressive list of clients, including Fortune 500 firms, most benefiting from the company's robust data center centric offerings.”
