SARASOTA — King Engineering Associates, a Tampa-based firm with Florida offices in Sarasota, Jacksonville and Miami, named Misty Servia a senior associate and shareholder.

Servia has been with King since 2005, soon after it expanded from Tampa to Sarasota. She manages the firm's Sarasota Planning Department, according to a release, where she works with both private and pubic sector clients. Servia is also active in several Sarasota-Bradenton organizations. Florida Gov. Rick Scott appointed Servia to the board of the Manatee County Housing Authority in July, a term that lasts four years.

King Engineering was one of the largest full-service engineering firms in the region prior to the recession, with more than $30 million in annual sales and 300 employees by 2005. Sales slowed in the downturn, though the firm maintains four offices in Florida, in addition to branches in Austin and Dallas.
