SARASOTA — Halfacre Construction Co. has been chosen to oversee a renovation project at Marina Jack, a popular restaurant and deep-water marina in Sarasota.

The work, according to a release, includes a new patio bar and service station and a new commercial kitchen to service that area. A folding glass wall system will also be added along the south and west entrances. The work could be completed by February.

“We chose Halfacre Construction Company for this project because of their reputation and experience with commercial buildings in the region,” Marina Jack vice president and general manager Tom Delong says in the release.

Lakewood Ranch-based Halfacre was founded in 1970. Other recent projects include Loveland Village, a 42-unit apartment complex in Venice for adults with developmental disabilities and a new corporate headquarters for Caldwell Trust Co., a $3 million project, also in Venice.
