SARASOTA — An extensive renovation at the nationally recognized Orthopedic and Spine Institute at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota is complete.

The project, according to a release, is the first phase of a planned $17 million overall renovation at Doctors Hospital, a 155-bed acute care facility. Other phases include an expansion of the emergency room and the addition of two state-of-the art operating rooms in the surgical suite.

Renovations in the Orthopedic and Spine Institute include significant upgrades to patient rooms and enhanced services designed to improve recovery time.

“As a prominent orthopedic and spine facility, and one of only 37 hospitals in the nation using Mazor robotics technology, we see a lot of complex spinal cases,” Doctors Hospital CEO Robert Meade says in the statement. “This renovation better allows us to continue providing an atmosphere that's restorative and restful.”
