NAPLES — Hodges University named David Borofsky as interim president, replacing Jeanette Brock who abruptly announced her retirement last month.

Borofsky most recently served as president of Dakota State University, where he led the development of a five-year strategic plan. He raised $7 million for a campus expansion and student retention increased 9.4% in the first year of the plan's implementation, according to a statement from Hodges.

“Dr. Borofsky brings the perfect mix of institutional leadership, fundraising and educational experience to the position at Hodges University,” says John Agnelli, chairman of the board for Hodges, in a statement. “We are especially pleased that he is coming onboard immediately, ensuring there will be a seamless transition of leadership.”

Brock announced her retirement last month after one year as president without citing specific reasons. She will leave the university on Dec. 31. The university says it will install a new president by July 1.
