PUNTA GORDA — Discount carrier Allegiant says it plans additional destinations from Punta Gorda and St. Petersburg starting in November.

Allegiant will begin nonstop service from Punta Gorda to Huntington, W. Va., on Nov. 14. One-way fares start at $77. The discount airline also announced plans to start nonstop service in November from St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport to Belleville, Ill., Bloomington, Ill., and Concord, N.C. Introductory one-way fares range from $49 to $76.

Las Vegas-based Allegiant links travelers in small, underserved cities to leisure destinations such as Florida. In addition to the airline, Allegiant also sells other travel-related products such as hotel rooms, rental cars and attraction tickets.
