PLANT CITY — Fort Lauderdale-based CableOrganizer.com has acquired EquiCross Inc., a Plant City-based provider of crowd and traffic control equipment.

CableOrganizer.com officials say the purchase will give EquiCross access to CableOrganizer.com's search engine optimization and pay-per-click marketing, logistics, I.T. and sales support expertise. CableOrganizer.com will also begin offering several of the EquiCross' crowd control products on its own site under its safety and security categories. CableOrganizer.com will also continue operating EquiCross' shopping website CrowdControlStore.com, which sells products such as barricades, stanchions and traffic cones, as a stand-alone site.

“We think having these two teams join forces will accelerate the group's growth to the next level, and unlock the potential that is clearly evident in a fast-growing company like EquiCross,” Jim Tapp, a managing director with KT Capital, says in a press release.

Created in 2000 and incorporated two years later, EquiCross operated from warehouses in Florida, Pennsylvania, and California.

CableOrganizer.com is one of several portfolio companies owned by Atlanta-based Private Equity firm KT Capital, which purchased the company in May 2013.
