While experts are casting doom on the slowing housing market nationally, the Fort Myers area keeps posting strong sales results.

For example, in June, Realtors helped sell 1,213 existing single-family homes. That's a 15.3% increase over the same month in 2013. Also in that same period, the median price of an existing single-family home rose 8.1% to $200,000, according to the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach.

The market continued to be strong for condos, too. In June, Realtors helped sell 574 existing condos in the Fort Myers area, an 11.2% increase over June 2013. The median price of an existing condo rose 5.6% to $171,000.

That's despite the fact that supply is limited. The association reports that there's only a five-months' supply of single-family homes, and the median days on the market before contract is just 53 days.
