Christmas party plans underway

Summer's not even over, but the happiest seaside town in Florida wants you to know it's already planned a Christmas party.

Merchants on the island of Captiva in Lee County recently announced plans for the annual Holiday Village, a celebration that takes place after Thanksgiving. It involves fireworks, tree lighting, musical performances and other activities over a period of three weekends.

One thing is certain: People on Captiva know how to plan a party. Maybe that's why Coastal Living magazine recently named Captiva the happiest seaside town in Florida.
