Sarasota and Cape Coral score high on air test

Take a deep breath Sarasota. You too, Cape Coral.

Those cities, plus Lakeland and Palm Bay, all made the top 10 list of cities with the cleanest air in the country. The list, the second annual AirGenius Awards, was compiled by environmental scientists and sponsored by the Honeywell AirGenius Air Cleaner.

The cities, evaluated by scientists from Environmental Health & Engineering, a global consulting firm, examined city air quality criteria including pollen counts, pollution and access to parks, according to a release. The 10 cities with the best air quality nationwide, according to the survey, are:
• San Francisco;
• Cape Coral;
• Palm Bay;
• Austin;
• Boston;
• Tucson;
• San Jose;
• Lakeland;
• Sarasota;
• Denver.
