OLDSMAR — Technology solutions provider Vology Inc. has acquired the Irvine, Calif., division of Govplace, a Reston, Va.-based enterprise I.T. reseller.

Govplace's Irvine, Calif., division primary sells and manages technology for state and local governments and education customers in California. The acquisition adds a second physical location in California for Vology and gives the company additional storage management capabilities. Those services will be rolled into the Vology 360 managed services line and made available to customers across North America.

“The acquisition of Govplace's Irvine division is a key building block in Vology's three-year growth strategy that includes investment in key geographies,” Barry Shevlin, Vology CEO, says in a press release. “California is Vology's second largest market and one of its fastest growing.”

Govplace designs, deploys, and manages technology for its public sector clients.

Outside of Florida, Vology has offices in Syracuse, N.Y.; New York City; Denver; Austin, Texas; Oklahoma City; and Sacramento and Irvine, Calif.
