TAMPA — Uniform company Cintas Corp. says that Tampa International Airport (TPA) is home to one of America's best restrooms. The 20 newly renovated restrooms in the airport's main terminal are finalists in Cintas' 12th annual America's Best Restroom Contest.

The restrooms in the main terminal were renovated as part of the airport's $30 million Main Terminal Modernization project completed earlier this year. The restrooms were given particular attention, the airport says, because of their impact on airport-customer satisfaction. In a recent survey of more than 29,000 airport patrons, 87% of respondents said they've seen an improvement in the TPA's restrooms in the past two years.

Built for “folks who have to go when they are on the go” the renovated bathrooms features larger-than-normal stalls and incorporate stainless steel, porcelain and quartz for maximum durability and ease of maintenance. Built with eco-friendly materials the restrooms feature Dyson airblade hand dryers, LED lighting and low-flow water fixtures. Each restroom also incorporates image of flowers, birds, fish and other native Florida wildlife.

Voting for the award can be done at bestrestroom.com now through Oct. 31.
