SARASOTA — The Institute for the Ages named former Manatee Memorial Hospital executive Stacy Prouty chief operating officer.

Prouty, physician relations and recruitment director at Manatee Memorial, will oversee day-to-day operations, the institute says in a release, “with an eye on what's needed to make the organization more impactful.”

Prouty joined the institute in November 2012 in a consultant role. In addition to her work at Manatee Memorial, she has also run Sprouty Inc., her own project management and health care marketing consulting firm, the release states. “I am thrilled to be part of the team at the Institute for the Ages,” says Prouty in the statement. “They're creative, caring and professional colleagues along with an amazing cadre of volunteers, all passionate about transforming aging.”

The Institute for the Ages is a nonprofit think tank that studies the impact of aging on businesses and the community. The organization, founded in 2011, has received funding from individual, corporate and government entities, including the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County.
