SARASOTA — Local residential real estate executive Teresa Witte conquered England for her latest stop in an on-going global marketing push for Gulf Coast homes.

Witte, global new homes division manager for Sarasota-based Re/Max Platinum Realty, joined Cheri Guentner, co-owner of the firm, at the A Place in The Sun International Real Estate Showcase in Birmingham, U.K. The agents, according to a release, represented developer communities in Tampa, in addition to Re/Max Platinum Realty's Sarasota listings.

Witte, who attended the Investir USA Expo in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in July participated in a panel discussion that emphasized how Realtors can facilitate the home search and buying process for foreign buyers. “U.K. buyers have followed the economic situation in the United States and they understand that now is the best time to buy,” Witte says in the release. “Interest rates are still low and many deals can be found as the fiscal year ends for new-home developers.”

The real estate showcase, the agency says, posted a 20% increase in visitors over last year, approaching 5,000. Re/Max Platinum Realty has offices in downtown Sarasota, St. Armands Circle, Lakewood Ranch, Osprey and Venice. The global new homes division is based in Lakewood Ranch.
