D.R. Horton buys land for 51 Creekwood homes

BUYER: D.R. Horton Inc. (principals: Paul Romanowski, Donald Tomnitz, Bill Wheat, Donald Horton, Thomas Montano, Stacey Dwyer, Kathleen Shippey and Ashley Dagley), Orlando
SELLER: Homewood Corp.
PROPERTY: 7555 E. 47th Ave. Circle and an additional portion of East 47th Avenue Circle, Bradenton
PRICE: $1.38 million
PREVIOUS PRICE: $1.6 million and $240,000, January 2012
TITLE FIRM ON DEED: Meridian Title Co. Inc.

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Fort Worth-based homebuilder D.R. Horton Inc. purchased 31.5 acres of vacant land on the west side of Creekwood Boulevard for $1.38 million.

The price equated to $43,967 per acre.

The land will serve as an expansion of the existing residential neighborhood of Creekwood. The homebuilder plans to develop 51 lots on the property. Site work and land development is scheduled to start next month, according to Darren Saltzberg, city manager for Tampa/Sarasota division of D.R. Horton Inc.

“We plan to offer single-family one- and two-story homes for sale beginning in the spring of 2014,” he wrote in an email to the Business Observer.

Homes will feature 1,800 to 3,500 square feet of living space.
