BRANDON — Moreno Bakery, which sells bread, pastries and other products to local restaurants and retailers, announced plans to move into a new facility that's four times bigger than its current location.

The company, according to a release, will move into a 10,000-square-foot facility in Brandon, not far from the 2,500-square-foot baking center it currently uses. In addition to bread and individual desserts, the company also offers sandwiches, coffee and catering services, including custom-made wedding cakes and cupcakes. Moreno Bakery has 27 employees.

Jose Moreno, who founded the business in 1993, says he plans to expand the menu items with the new space to include soups and salads, plus more wedding cakes and holiday offerings. “Sadly, we had to turn down special orders over the past two Christmas holiday seasons because we just didn't have the room,” Moreno says in the statement. “This helped us decide that the time for expansion was now.”'¨
