SARASOTA — Health care IT firm Voalte has signed its first client in Michigan.
The fast-growing Sarasota-based company, with a niche in helping nurses communicate through iPhones and smart phones, will work with St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, according to a release. The 443-bed community and teaching hospital is one of the largest medical facilities in Oakland County, outside Detroit. Nurses at the hospital, according to the release, will use Voalte's platform and software “to communicate instantly with each other from anywhere in the hospital, allowing for faster response time to patient needs.”
St. Joseph Mercy Oakland President and CEO Jack Weiner, in the release, says the implementation of the new technology “is one of several initiatives St. Joe's has undertaken to improve patient safety and quality. We believe that this new technology will result in better clinical outcomes and enhance the quality of care for our patients, for which we are continually recognized.”
Voalte, founded in 2009, stands for voice, alarm and text. In addition to St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, clients nationwide include Massachusetts General Hospital, Texas Children's Hospital and Ann and Robert H. Laurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
