BUYER: Kane Furniture Corp. (principal: Daniel Klein, Carol Lane, Irwin Novack, Thelma Rothman and Martin Solomon), Pinellas Park
SELLER: Two Lakes of Naples LLC and Two Lakes Development LLC
PROPERTY: eastern Tamiami Trail North of the intersection with Old 41 Road, Naples

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Kane Furniture Corp. purchased a vacant 3.94-ace parcel of land south of Community Congregational Church and across U.S. 41 from a Starbucks coffee shop for $1.86 million.

The price equated to $472,081 per acre. That figure is lower than the two-year average price per acre for retail land ($746,593) in Southwest Florida, according to the CoStar Group.

The Pinellas Park furniture and home furnishings retailer has hired DeAngelis Diamond Construction Inc. to develop a 58,000-square-foot Savon Furniture on the site. It will be the retailer's fourth Savon Furniture store and its 18th retail store, including its Kane's Furniture store line.

A spokesperson for Kane's says the location was chosen because the company believes it will be a particularly strong retail property.
