NAPLES — Discovery Senior Living plans to build a 120-apartment assisted-living community for older people in Naples, its second facility in the region.

The Bonita Springs-based company plans to spend $30 million to build Discovery Village at Naples on the southeast corner of Collier Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road. The company's other development is located at the Forum off Colonial Boulevard near Interstate 75 in Fort Myers.

The Naples development will include 30 apartments for supervised independent living, 60 assisted-living apartments and 30 apartments for people with memory impairments. Construction of the 120,000-square-foot building by Iowa-based Henning Group is scheduled to begin in September and be completed by fall 2014.

Discovery Village will also include a clubhouse with a dining room, on-site medical offices and a wellness center with a therapy pool and fitness center.
