FORT MYERS — Builders pulled more commercial and residential construction permits in Lee County in June, reflecting improvements in the real estate market.
Construction firms pulled commercial permits worth $8.5 million in June in Lee County, an 89% increase over June 2012, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.
Residential builders pulled 94 permits for new single-family homes in Lee County in June, a 68% jump over the same month one year ago.
Twenty-nine multifamily homes were permitted in June, fewer compared with 36 in June one year ago. But the county permitted 43 in May.
