BRADENTON — State Sen. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, is helping some fellow Republicans in future elections across the state with a political committee that now has more than $200,000.
The committee, Innovate Florida, raised $206,500 in November, according to a News Service of Florida report. The Florida Medical Association, Florida Power & Light, Florida Optometric PAC and Automated HealthCare Solutions each contributed $25,000 to the committee. The Associated Industries of Florida contributed $20,000, reports the News Service.
The committee spent a little more than $10,000 in November. That includes contributions to the campaigns of Sen. Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, R-Miami, Sen. Greg Evers, R-Baker, and Sen. Dorothy Hukill, R-Port Orange. A Bradenton attorney, Galvano is one of several state senators in line for a future chance at the senate presidency. He's also chairman of the Senate Education Appropriations Subcommittee.
